Bank of West Point Built in 1907 at the corner of Gilmer and
Montgomery Streets, built the bank liquidated in 1917. It
was completely restored in 1989 by a CPA firm.
Lanett Bleachery and Dye Works A division of the West Point Manufacturing Company, it
began operations in 1895. For years, it was one of the
largest mills in the nation.

River for power generation. Originally operated as the
Chattahoochee Manufacturing Company in 1869.

Riverdale Mills, a division of West Point Manufacturing Company This plant was one of the first large manufacturing
plants in the south and began production in 1869.Originally it was known as the Alabama and Georgia
Manufacturing Company. It was reorganized in 1898 as
Riverdale Cotton Mills.

Shawmut Mills, a division of West Point Manufacturing Company This mill was built in 1907 between Lanett and Langdale,
Alabama, but near West Point, GA. The unique mill village
surrounded the plant and was laid out by William Bell Marquis, a
noted landscape architect and land planner. The mill
village has church, school and community buildings around an
open, green space.
