LaGrange, GA - Libraries & Post Offices

T

LaGrange War Memorial Library  and Women's Club.
Dedicated in memory of those who served in WWI, this library was built in the early 1930's on Church St.  The Rotary Club raised most of the money to build this facility.  It was replaced by a newer library on Broome St. in 1975.  In recent years, it has been used by the Troup County Court system.

LaGrange Post Office
This building, built in 1913 in the Federal Style, served as the main Post Office in LaGrange until 1962 when a new one was built on Church St.  It later served as the HQ of the LaGrange School System for 3 decades.  It was torn down to make way for a new theatre in 2005 over the objections of the Historical Society and many local citizens.
