Sibley Cotton Mills, Augusta, GA
The mills were located on the Savannah River and this
postcard was postmarked in 1907. The square
tower was the old Powder Works Chimney, which is all that
remained of the old Confederate Powder Works that was
operational during the Civil War. In 1872, the City
Council of Augusta allowed it to remain as a monument to the
deceased veterans of the Civil War.

The new Union Savings Bank that was built on the site of the old
Union Savings Bank, which was destroyed by the fire of 1916.
