Old Governor's Mansion (in Milledgeville)
Put this in the Atlanta group since all the other
Governor's Mansions were there.
Completed in1838 when Milledgeville was the Capitol of
Georgia, it is one of the most perfect examples old Greek
Revival architecture in America. Georgia Governors
occupied this Mansion from 1838-1868. Since 1890, it has
been the home of the President of Georgia College and State
University.

the 1870's and is now the residence of Georgia's Chief

a large grain and cotton trade and has extensive railways in all
directions. Atlanta was the center of important military
operations in the Civil War and suffered greatly in
consequence."
